Berlusconi, who is on an official visit to Libya to ratify a compensation deal with the former Italian colony, invited Gadhafi to travel to the island of Sardinia to attend the Group of Eight summit in July. The Libyan leader is expected to discuss Africa's problems on the third day of the July 8-10 summit. In August, Italy and Libya reached a compensation agreement for Italy's occupation of Libya.
