Description
People displaced by violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo form small groups to divide among themselves the food aid rations received from the World Food Program near a camp for Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Kibati on November 26, 2008. The UN's World Food Programme said yesterday it had distributed supplies to nearly 145,000 people displaced by recent fighting in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. It added that "The security situation remains extremely unstable and the continuation of food aid distribution depends on getting escorts from MONUC (the UN mission in DR Congo) to certain regions,".
