The center of the Milky Way is seen in this photo released by the ESO (European Organisation for Astronomical Research in the Southern Hemisphere) made from the Paranal observatory some 1200 km (745 mile) north of Santiago and 2600 metres above sea level, September 22, 2009. The image, made of 1200 photos and taken from an amateur telescope, shows the center of the Milky Way between the Sagittarius to Scorpius constellations.
