Police stand in the port of Piraeus on February 2, 2009 behind a bag of potatoes and other vegetables thrown by farmers, who came from the Greek southern island of Crete. Farmers clashed with police on the mainland port of Piraeus as they headed to a protest against prices they consider too low for their products. The farmers were trying to get permission from authorities to travel with a convoy of 500 tractors to hold a rally outside the Ministry of Agriculture in Athens, near Piraeus.
