Description
(091113) -- ABU DHABI, Nov. 13, 2009 (Xinhua) -- Photo taken on Nov. 3, 2009 shows that a kid writes Chinese characters at Abu Dhabi Children's Kindergarten, in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. In downtown Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, there's a beige building. That is the Abu Dhabi Children's Kindergarten which is attached to the Abu Dhabi Education Council. In September 2006, a Chinese language learning class was set up in the kindergarten. All teachers in the class are from China, and most students are local Arab children. The Chinese school, initiated and funded by Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahayan, was established in line with an agreement between the Abu Dhabi Education Council and the Office of Chinese Language Council International (OCLCI) of China with assistance from the Chinese Embassy to the UAE. Currently there are 76 students, including six Chinese children, and five Chinese teachers. The courses include Chinese, English and Arabic. The children can also take part in many extra-curricular activities with Chinese characteristics. An Jiang.
